_In the event of severe weather conditions please be aware that the centers may be closed for the day or temporarily.  We ask parents to watch the news or listen to your favorite radio program to listen for Boise School District school closures.  The Boise School District RARELY closes unless the roads are determined to be extremely unsafe.  They have enormous resources and people to make this determination.  Trusting that their goal of keeping children safe is equal to our own, we will treat school closures in the following way:

1. If the Boise School District declares a “snow day”  or “severe weather day” and closes school for the day Giraffe Laugh will also be closed.
2. HOWEVER, we will consider a late opening at 10:00 a.m. so that the majority of people have traveled and the chances of higher temperatures and/or better road conditions are improved.
3. If the center is closed please call in to either center at 424-3387 or 342-1239 (also, please check our Facebook fan page) and we will attempt to make a determination by 8:00 a.m. and have that information on our recordings as well as possible staff members who would be willing to take children in their home.
4. Parents will not be charged for a complete snow day
5. Staff cannot use personal, vacation or sick days for a snow day.  It will be a day without pay for staff members.
6. If parents should decide to take their child to a staff member they will need to negotiate a “price” with that person.
