A letter from Executive Director, Lori Fascilla

Last month we celebrated several milestones in our organization to be proud of. 5 years since Giraffe Laugh 3 partnered with the Salvation Army and the Boise School District to care for the pregnant and parenting teens and their babies. 10 years since we opened Giraffe Laugh 2 downtown where we were able to serve more homeless families. 15 years since Beverly Haugen our Giraffe Laugh 2 Site Director started with us. 20 years since Giraffe Laugh 1 was opened and 25 years since I have been the Executive Director.

My how time flies. The next five years includes not only a new office for our administrative family, but a new center for up to 75 more children on our waiting list of 550. We are thrilled to be serving so many new families even while we know our work is not yet done. Many of you have been instrumental in ensuring the new location has moved from the dream stage to opening later this summer, and for that we are eternally grateful.

It’s not often that people can say they’ve been able to be a part of something for so long and still love it. Fortunately for me, all of you make it so simple to do more than just my job, rather to be a part of the fabric of so many lives and to love (almost) every minute of it. Thank you for allowing me that privilege.

Our Giraffe Laugh tag line is: We can see the future from here, and for me the future is a whole new generation of people I knew as children, now having children of their own. I hope in some way Giraffe Laugh and myself have been a part of making the world a little better place for our newest members.
