From Lori’s Laptop, April 2016

A Letter from Executive Director, Lori Fascilla

March comes in like a lion heralding the promise of warmer weather and longer days. April follows in a flurry of activity reminding us that time goes by so fast; I could swear I just put away my Christmas decorations.

As time marches ahead so do our children and before you know it the clothes that fit them last year are suddenly a couple of inches too short. Little ankles and wrists are peeking out and buttons no longer fasten. The promise of spring and new growth is seen everywhere, but especially in our kids.

It’s hard when we are close to them to see them actually grow, but that they are growing every day. As spring emerges capture each moment of fun that you can with your little ones before they get to the age that they no longer wish to spend time with you.

Empowering parents is part of our key work at Giraffe Laugh. Our hope is that all parents feel they have the information they need to parent wisely. We also want parents to feel like they are part of our Giraffe Laugh family.

We have many fun activities this month including a rally at the Capitol against Child Abuse on April 1st, the Bowlathon on Sunday, April 10th, Volunteer Appreciation Week April 11-16 which is also Week of the Young Child. We hope you can join us at some or all of these fun events and that you embrace the newness of the season in as many ways possible.
