Shellee Jackman

Site Director at Giraffe Laugh on Grand Ave

Born and raised in the scenic town of Pocatello, ID, I embarked on a journey of growth and discovery when I relocated to the dynamic Treasure Valley in 2011—a decision that profoundly enriched my life. As the eldest among my siblings—a cherished trio of two sisters and a brother—I’ve long been drawn to the nurturing world of childcare, a passion I’ve nurtured for over two decades.

My professional path in childcare has been diverse, encompassing roles from classroom educator to occasional culinary contributor, with a notable shift towards leadership in recent years. In this capacity, I’ve found deep fulfillment in fostering meaningful connections with my team, the children in our care, and their families. Supporting and guiding my staff in their educational endeavors within Early Childhood Education has been particularly rewarding, as I witness their growth and dedication to their craft.

Beyond the classroom, my love for soccer—cultivated since childhood—remains steadfast, especially during the excitement of the World Cup. I enjoy sharing sports moments with loved ones, whether cheering alongside my significant other or bonding with my dad over all the sports and live music events.

Currently, I’m immersed in enhancing my 1940s home and its spacious yard with various projects, while also reigniting my love for reading—a pursuit that brings me great joy and intellectual fulfillment.

Academically, I hold an associate degree in graphic design, accompanied by a Child Development Credential and a wealth of continuing education courses through Idaho Stars. Eager to expand my knowledge further, I aspire to complete my bachelor’s degree, recognizing the value of lifelong learning in my role as an educator.

My journey in Early Childhood Education has been deeply enriched by a decade-long tenure with Head Start, where my passion for non-profits and holistic family engagement blossomed. For me, childcare extends beyond the confines of the classroom; it’s about forging enduring bonds and empowering families towards brighter futures.

In essence, I am a dedicated educator at heart, committed to nurturing young minds and fostering inclusive, supportive environments where children and families can thrive.
