Giraffe Laugh's 8th Annual Bowlathon is coming up Sunday April 14th, with registration opening at 1:30pm and bowling starting at 2:00pm.  This year we are cosmic bowling at Big Al's!

         Giraffe Laugh 1 and 2 had to combine forces when the pipes froze at GL1 on January 21, 2013.  Everyone was so wonderful that things went off without a hitch.  
         Neile held down the fort at GL1 with heaters and plumbers and eventually United Water who came out and replaced the main connection.
          In the meantime ALL of the teachers and kids came to our second location and everything went incredibly smoothly.  We were surprised at how much the children enjoyed one another and all of the new toys.  We were so proud of our teachers that made room in their spaces and hearts for new kids and more teachers!  We really do have the best TEAM of teachers at GL.  Thanks everyone for a great experience.

Giraffe Laugh 1 Pipes are still frozen.  Tomorrow January 23rd, we will have all students attend Giraffe Laugh 2, located on the corner of 12th and Grand Ave.  Each classroom will have Giraffe Laugh 1 and Giraffe Laugh 2 staff members present so that there are familiar faces throughout the building!  

Ballet lessons are starting again for both Giraffe Laugh 1 and Giraffe Laugh 2 preschool classes.  For more information please contact your child's preschool teacher.  

The Idaho Food Bank will be holding Cooking Matters classes at Giraffe Laugh 2 starting January 24th at 5:30 pm.  These classes are for adults only.  This is a seven week series in which you will learn healthy affordable recipes, you will also receive a free bag of groceries with ingredients from the weeks meal to prepare at home.  Please contact the Grand Ave location if you are interested in attending.  

The 8th Annual Bowlathon will be held on April 6th at 2:00pm (location TBD).  Start gathering your team of 5 bowlers and join us Saturday April 6th at 2:00pm for bowling, prizes, T-shirts, family time, fun and free soda or beer!

All Giraffe Laugh Schools are closed today due to weather. Have a safe and happy day with your kids! See you tomorrow.

Winter is clearly upon us!  Please make yourself familiar with our snow day policy.  Also please remember to bring your child with gloves/mittens, hats, coats and snow boots this winter season!  

Giraffe Laugh Too will be closed Christmas Eve due to the low number of children signed up for attendance.  Giraffe Laugh 1 however will remain open until 3:00 pm that day.  Parents from Giraffe Laugh Too in need of care that day, please let the office on Grand Ave know right away!

All centers will be closed Tuesday December 25th and Tuesday January 1st in observance of Christmas and New Years.  

Santa Claus will be visiting the centers to hear the wishes of our little ones.  See our Parent Calendar for details.

11TH ANNUAL FALL FRIENDRAISER

As the leaves start to change we begin to snuggle down and look forward to the holiday season of thanks and friendship!  For this reason, we’ll be celebrating our 11th Annual Fall Friendraiser on Friday November 2nd where we’ll celebrate our successes and our theme, Stories of Hope!

THE HOLIDAYS

We will be providing Thanksgiving food baskets, Christmas food baskets, a visit from Santa and our Christmas Adoption Program if you need assistance.  Please contact the offices to sign up for these services or if you’d like to help provide these services to a family in need!

September is the month when your annual registration fee is added to your monthly statement. Giraffe Laugh is participating in the Kraft Tickets Fore Charity and the Boise Albertson’s Open for our 7th straight year! Instead of paying your annual registration fee directly to Giraffe Laugh you may pay your registration fee by purchasing at least one ticket to the Boise Albertsons Open which is $25. 100% of your ticket purchase will come back to Giraffe Laugh! Giraffe Laugh benefits by sharing in a $50,000 bonus pool provided by Supervalu and Kraft. Our portion of the bonus pool is based on our percentage of total ticket revenue from the Tickets Fore Charity program. More tickets equal a bigger share of the pot!

Here is how to order your tickets:
Log onto albertsonsboiseopen.com click on the tickets tab and select Giraffe Laugh from the drop-down menu of options. Enter your player's name as the organization representative in order to receive credit. Please mail, email or bring in a copy of your purchase confirmation in lieu of your September registration fee so we know your payment is coming from the Boise Open. Your purchase confirmation must reach us by the end of September 2012 to receive a $30 credit on your October statement.

Hyde Park Street Fair is a three day event that raises money for children in need and their families!  The money collected helps kids attend our quality preschool programs for children ages 10 days to six years while supporting parents who are living in fragile economic situations some of whom are teens and/or homeless.

We need people to help with several different areas to include a carnival, bounce houses, face painting, cotton candy and more!  It's a fantastic weekend that normally sports awesome weather and great people.  you must love kids and we have T-shirts and snacks for all of our volunteers who complete a full shift.  Please join us! This year we need help with set up beginning Sept. 13th and help with the carnival from Sept. 14th through the 16th.
